Many will remember the feeling of watching the original 1995 film, Twister and thinking “Holy Sh*t!” as the Tornado wrecked havoc on Helen Hunt and her friends.
And if you thought a follow up to that 90s blockbuster wasn’t necessary, then you thought wrong.
Twisters holds it own while using the elements that made its predecessor so unbelievably epic in the first place.
Glen Powell plays the frat boy-esque Tornado wrangler, Tyler Owens, incredibly well allowing you to fall in love with his charm, pairing sweetly with Daisy Edgar-Jones’ meteorologically enigmatic Kate Carter.
The movie hints at romance in a way that doesn’t lose the intensity of catastrophic tornados spiralling out of control and unexpectedly across towns.
Shots panned and weaved, reminiscent of Jurassic World, unsurprising given the producers involved with this project.
Overall an epic Hollywood blockbuster, that took from the old so fittingly you would be forgiven for believing that this wasn’t Chung’s first Tornadeo when it comes to the story of Twisters.
Twisters is in cinemas now.
